PURPOSE
This portion of the daily XRay report shows you how your engineers are spending their time. The displayed information starts at the “engineer” level and allows you to quickly drill-down to the “time-entry” level in just a few clicks. As is the case is all XRay reports, the figures estimated are broken into various components (detailed below).
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Your engineering team is THE most important resource to manage. Each of them start everyday with 8 hours to offer your organization. At the end of the day, that 8 hours will be gone. The question for you, the CxO is: “Did they use their time working on the things that you WANT them to work on?” This report gives you the details of how they are spending their time, so that you can quickly determine if they are investing their “8 hours” the way you want them to.
Report Items
Hrs Actual – Shows the Actual Hours entered on time entries for this engineer. This figure does NOT round the time to the nearest quarter-hour (or other rounding you may have in place for billable hour purposes). Shows as RED if the engineer is not at least 80% of the target Actual Hours for the period, and shows as YELLOW if they are 80-99% of target.
Billable Hrs – Billable Hours (rounded per your designated rounding method in ConnectWise) for this engineer. For client work, this is the number of hours that will appear on the invoice. Note that you may also have “billable” hours that are activities for YOUR organization as well.
Bill % – Billable percentage is a gauge of engineer productivity calculated by dividing Billable Hours / Actual Hours. Shows as RED if the engineer is not at least 80% of the target Actual Hours for the period, and shows as YELLOW if they are 80-99% of target.
